Default Dry mead OG/FG?

Well, made a mistake and didn't take an OG on my first batch of mead. Total brain fart.

Anyway, what is the average OG for a normal dry mead?

After a month in primary the SG now is 1016. Do I still have a ways to go? I've read that you want a dry closer to 1000.

Any help is appreciated...

Dry mead can have any OG up to, and over, 1.100. Give us your recipe and we might be able to come close to an OG. Dry mead will end up under 1.00.

Yeah the OG depends entirely on how much honey you added and if there were any other ingredients.
