My company owns four; groqit.com, org, net & mobi. The main site is .com, .net is for email, .org will eventually be the forum and .mobi for mobile access. Purely for business, (which might actually have product in two weeks)!

Own three.

ajbrewing.com - 1st brew site where I toss some web stuff.
oldpueblobrewing.com - Tucson is called the old pueblo. nabbed it. nothing there
imajininteriors.com - wife's business (startup). Need to get to work on this one, nothing there either

As a web developer I sometimes get crazy ideas. Of course, I jump on the web and register them right away. I have not taken step 2 on many of these yet, but the ideas are in the tubes. As you can tell some are better than other lol.

Should have updated since I learned a little more about web pages and updated the pics on it, but have been busy at "real" work.

We run a hosting company here in South GA. We probably own around 120~140 ourself... mostly for projects that are either still in development or I just haven't got around to yet. The others belong to customers we manage.

No, not all of them are websites, some might have 20 variations for a single domain. Take Deep Six Brewing for example:

deep6beer.com/net
deepsixbeer.com/net
deep6brewing.com/net
deepsixbrewing.com/net
deep6brewingco.com/net
deepsixbrewingco.com/net
deep6brewingcompany.com/net
deepsixbrewingcompany.com/net

but the only point to a single domain. The way I see it, you never know if you are gonna have the next big thing... and once domains are gone, they are gone unless you are willing to pay top dollar for them.

I hear ya on that.

I'm like seefresh where I buy domains because of an idea and never use them. Probably own 50-75 I would guess. They are so cheap now esp. when you buy in bulk.

I pay like $10/ month for a single domain on yahoo. How do you guys get them so cheap? SWMBO was pissed I got a domain that I wasn't using yet, but like everyone said....once they're gone....

DUDE!!! godaddy.com is $9 a year! Of course, that doesn't include hosting, but you own the domain name and can point it where ever and no one else can register!

We locked up one for our brewery: www.twospooks.com

It's a pathetic shell of a site that we pay 60/year for. We have hopes that it will become more... If nothing else, I'd like to start selling our merchandise (t-shirts, mugs, patches, coins, etc.) through there sometime soon.

BTW, what's the scoop on the domain transfer? Is that just a transfer of services and access? Obviously hosting is separate...and that's mostly pertaining to storage, webpage tools, etc.? Sorry for the Q's.....not well versed in web page design...but I'd like to keep my own webpage for build pics, etc.

I register mine through GoDaddy and sometimes they will run specials when you buy in bulk down to $4.95 per year per domain.

The little bird in my avatar is Murray from our site at murraythechicken.com. Murray travels the world visiting people but he's been home for quite a while now. He took a bit of a beating over the years.

I've got 10+ that I keep re-registering hoping that someone will want to buy them someday and help me pay for new beer toys. None that have active sites on them.

I own about 40 domains. Sometimes I work on websites for friends and many times I've taken domain names bartered to me as payment. I've bought quite a few myself.

A lot of the domains I don't have much on them at all, but a few of them I work with regularly.

My favorite domain:
http://www.tombofthemutilated.net

My domain that makes me the most $$$
http://www.computer-buyer.com

I own a couple domains

IR.org which is my personal little toy and my consulting frontpage

beachcitiesbrewing.com
dtoddchocolate.com
dtoddchocolates.com
dtoddchocolatier.com
shorthoppers.com
a couple more I can't recall right now.

I did take a flyer a little while ago and registered killerideas.com for a project that never happened. I just sold that one for a decent amount of money, enough to start the dtoddchocolates.com gig.

I keep thinking about selling ir.org to raise funds but I just can't convince myself to sell it.
