Just bit the bullet and upgraded to a 3 vessel 15 Gallon all electric from High Gravity. Can't wait for its arrival!! Anyone using one that can offer any tips or tricks about the system?

Thanks

Walt

Walt,

I wish you the very best.

The site you linked is very complex (for this very old man) and difficult to navigate to your system.

It took me a while to just get past there entry 'stuff' and then trying to find the system???

Wishing you the BEST.

Walt:

I'm sure you won't be tempted to balance your beautiful new Blichmann's full of boiling wort on top of plastic milk boxes as is depicted on that site. Because THAT would be insane

But it looks like a great setup. I used that chiller for a while and found that it collected a lot of hops material - YMMV. I eventually switch to a counterflow chiller which has been working well for me.

I just switched to all electric and the first two brews are under my belt. Not too many issues during the first two brews but I figure I will still be dialing in the system for another few brews.

Don't sweat questions of efficiency, volumes etc at first - take your best guess and take careful notes about your guesses and then what actually happens and you will learn how to work with your system over time.

Have a ball! Got your first couple of recipes planned yet? Start with something you've brewed before or at least something fairly simple. Don't go for the triple-hopped Barleywine just yet

Thanks and no milk crates. 😄
I have cabinets in my garage that I plan on using, just figured I'd put some pot holders or something underneath the pots.

Not sure what I will be brewing first with it but I will keep the first few brews simple. I have a counter flow chiller already so I will use it if I have issues.

Just picked up the same configuration myself and plan to assemble this weekend. Maybe we can keep this thread going to discuss how it goes. Steve.

Cool, let me know how it goes, I ordered mine on Tuesday but do not know when it will ship.

Got lucky, there is room in my electrical panel so will be running a 240 circuit this weekend.

WooHoo!!! Got the shipped notice today!! I can't wait!! Been out of the hobby for a year now due to a move, had to sell my more beer tippy dump sculpture, could not afford to put it on the moving truck. I'm psyched and ready to brew!!
