Has anyone tried the same recipe with these two strains? The Wyeast Lab website doesn't do much to differentiate these. Anyone have a more personal flavor profile for these?

To get a good feel for these yeasts you can try the commercial brews.

1214 is the Chimay strain

1762 is the Rochefort strain.

My prefence is for the 1214. It is more fruity than 1762. 1762 is cleaner, but I often taste more alchol flavor. Be careful with the temp on the 1762. It easily gets fusels. The first time I used it I let it get too hot too fast. 1214 is a little less temp sensitive.
