Have a good 12-14oz (slurry) of wyeast 2053 in the fridge that i collected from our lager about a month ago, we are brewing a black friday black lager and I am debating whether to make a starter since there is so much yeast, I know it probably wont hurt to make a starter but i'm sorta worried about time. Or maybe I could take it out of the fridge and add some DME to wake it up a bit

We made a starter before pitching it to the last lager (with a lot less yeast) and it took right off without much lag time.

just want an opinion or two... thanks

with a yeast cake you won't need to make a stater, i wouldn't if i was pitching 12-14oz of yeast.

Check Mr. Malty to make sure. Note the "production date," i.e., when you bottled the last one, and compare.
