so i bought some brewers yeast but turns out its like the nutritional kind. Im pretty sure that doesnt matter, but what worries me is that it says inactive on the container. I put the yeast in some warm water and added a pinch of sugar then dumped it into my wort. its been an hour and still not seeing any signs of fermentation. someone please tell me whats going on

It will not ferment, ever. Deactivated yeast are dead. You're basically trying to ferment with Vegemite.

You can wait 3 days but it won't ferment.

You need to buy Saccharomyces c. yeast that is made specifically to ferment beer, not deactivated (dead) yeast that is used by vegans as a cheese food substitute.

Reliable dry yeast producers are Fermentis, Safale and Danstar.

Agreed you need to get active yeast (for brewing not baking) . Just get some and add it into the beer, a day or 2 later is no big deal.
