Max ABV for WL400

The WL website says 400 has a "medium" alcohol tolerance. I'd like to try for 8%. Anyone have any luck with a higher ABV for WL400.

I have read wlp400 is supposedly the same strain as wyeast 3944 (I don't knowif it's true).
according to wyeast 3944 is good up to 11-12%. YMMV
 
Yes, WLP400=WY3944=Hoegaarden apparently. That's a beast of a witbier you're planning. I use 3944 a lot for wits, but I've never tried to go much beyond 5% abv. Make a big starter, aerate the wort, and you should get good attenuation.
