Default Frozen WLP300

I accidentally froze two vials of White labs yeast. Is it ok to use if I make a starter for each?

Will it take longer?

If you make a starter and it ferments down, you are good to go. I would start with a small starter and build it up. It will have less viable cells, but you might have enough left.

+1

But that sucks, let's hope you caught it JUST after it froze. Like netjunk1e said, make a starter and just give it a shot. There has to be at least a small proportion of yeast still viable

Freezing liquid yeast is said to reduce the viability by about 10%. I dont therefore see a problem with it.
