Sorghum syrup vs sorghum molasses

I'm brewing a cider for the wife. She wants me to model it after a local meadery's cider. They backsweeten it with sorghum molasses. I'm wondering if I could use sorghum syrup instead. It's my understanding that sorghum molasses is just a more concentrated sorghum syrup, but I would rather be safe than sorry.
