I had similar instructions for my wife for my fathers day gift, for the same purpose. I wanna go AG and I asked for Gift Certificates from my LHBS...and the same request for my b-day in 2 weeks....
This is simply awesome timing for you....by your parents.
My birthday is August 17th...I thought that was pretty cool timing!
