Default Adding sugar to carboy before pitching?

I just brewed a double ipa and now that I am cooling it down I have realized that I forgot to add the turbinado. 1 lb
Can I dissolve the turbinado in some water, boil it, cool it, then add it to the carboy before I pitch the yeast or is there a better way of doing this?

That's a perfectly fine way to do it.

Thanks MalFet! I thought I had a real problem on my hands. Peace of mind is great in homebrewing.
