Does anyone have any handy dandy calculator to tell you how much DME to add to your wort to correct low pre-boil gravities? I had one off by a good amount last month, and want to be prepared should it happen again.

10 minutes of me and google resulted in nothing.

grab your handy dandy TI-8X and do the math yourself.

((target SG) - (actual SG)) * (boil volume in gallons)/44 = lb. of DME
((target SG) - (actual SG)) * (boil volume in gallons)/36 = lb. of LME

example: target boil gravity is 1.060 and you got 1.055 in a 3 gallon boil

((60) - (55)) * (3)/44 = 0.34 lb. of DME
((60) - (55)) * (3)/36 = 0.42 lb. of LME

here is a easy way, 1lb of DME in 16oz of water, will boost .003 in 5G of wort!

no i dont think that will work. DME gives you 44 ppg ... you need to divide that by the number of gallons you are putting the DME into. a full pound of DME in 5 gallons will raise your SG by 8.8 points.
