Default wood chips in oatmeal stout

Anyone ever added woodchips to an oatmeal stout? Any suggestions/comments/concerns?

Lots of peeps will soak the oakchips in bourbon for a few weeks, both for the flavor and to sanitize, then add to secondary for 2-4 weeks.
