Default Sorachi Ace

So I have read that SA can give a coconut flavor to beer but also can give off lemony flavor. I am wondering why/when these two distinctly different flavors arise.

Also, I am considering brewing a coconut porter and am wondering if this hop could work well in such a recipe. If I can somehow make it taste more like coconut than lemon...maybe?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Not sure on they why for's or definite characteristics, but I did an Amarillow/Sorachi summer wheat beer and there is a definite pina colada taste to it. I'd used Amarillo before and that doesn't seem to be the reason, so I have to think the Sorachi did it, not sure how to get more out of it. Coconut porter sounds cool.

I did an all Sorachi IPA and found no coconut taste. I'm getting more lemon and grassy notes.

Hophead75 and Battery_BreweryNJ:

When did add your the SA hops to the boil? Also, what amounts did you use?

Just trying to figure out what you two did differently.
