What do you think guys/gals? Looking for some roast but not over the top. I am worried a bit about the BU-Gu ratio, 1.36 too high? I was thinking of throwing some more hops in at whirlpool too. What about water profile from Bru'n water for this, regular pale ale profile of something else?

You're definitely going to get a dark color with that much black malt in there. The Chocolate Malt will give you the roasty flavor you want but to me it looks to be a little much and off style for an IPA. For my IPAs I concentrate on the 2 row, carapils and crystal and maybe a little munich malt. If you're using the Golden Promise malt which is Scottish but American C hops it's sort of all mixed up to begin with so maybe you just Americanize it all and use the Great Western Malting 2-row and the Wyeast 1056. I must confess I make a Goose Island (non-black) IPA that uses some C-hops on the British base and it does come out close for a clone. But yeah, if you're prepared to add Chocolate Malt to get some roast and make like an overhopped stout go for it. Personally I'd hold back on adding Simcoe. If you want some good high alpha hops I'd suggest Centennial and for bitterness instead of the Chinook, I'd suggest Magnum. But that's just my personal preferences.
