Default Adding fruit to White House Honey Ale

Hi everyone, this is my second homebrew, and I have a white house honey ale in primary fermenter. I would like to add grapefruit or some other citrus when I transfer it to the secondary, maybe mix some zest with vodka. Is this recommended? How much should I put in?
Merry Christmas!
