When ambient is above the desired temperature, or below, controlling fermenter temperature is fairly easy. The new heating/cooling coil from Brewhemoth is keeping my ales at the correct temperature. This morning my shop was 41 degrees, my ale at 68, this afternoon, it rose in the 70's and my ale is still at 68.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnH8idVcY04&list=UUbJ4Ace9RBNFId-0dZuxTkg
Happy Days!

I am buying a brewhemoth this summer, when I start making money again, and I would love something like this! I was going to do a homemade glycol system.

This would go perfect with my 1/2bbl system!

You won't regret it! I just filled one of mine this Saturday with 20 gallons of http://www.bertusbrewery.com/2013/03/pliny-younger-clone-20.html. Set the ranco to 63 and walked away, been holding steady since then! My other conical has a porter in it that I just started crash cooling today. Set the ranco for 40 and 4 hours later (maybe faster but that's the next time I looked) it was there (from 67). :rockin:

Awesome, I am pretty stoked. I am finishing my stout/bcs 1/2bbl build and looking for fermentation options. I opted for the bcs-462 so I can control fermentation too! I am about a month or so out from actually brewing but I am getting excited for the inaugural brew! Hopefully it works!
