I finally made an IC this past weekend! One thing I did not do though was "boil" the IC prior to its maiden voyage. I did boil it a few minutes before flame out but only rinsed the copper with a hose before hand. Do they put "oil" or anything on copper before it sits on the shelves? I am hoping the only thing really on it was dust, as it was shrink wrapped when I bought it. I know some metals get a protective coating to prevent tarnish / rust.

Just trying to put my mind at ease. :mug:

I don't think there are any oils on copper tubing when packaged(but I don't know). I do know that they are filled with nitrogen and capped so they are dry on the inside. You souldn't have any problems.
