Took my gravity reading this morning and I'm at 1.030, which would make this a ~7.9% beer. Tastes excellent as well!

I'll take another reading tomorrow to see if fermentation has stopped and rack to secondary if necessary.

Comments regarding my gravity reading are welcome.

Oh yeah-- and OG of 1.074.

With a finishing gravity of 1.030 I'm getting only 57% apparent attenuation and 5.8% abv. Really seems as though it should not have stopped so high.

1.074 is the OG from another beer. The porter in question had an OG of 1.090.

Bottling weekend coming up! The FINAL final gravity wound up being 1.030 on the porter...

So, how much priming sugar should I use?

Sounds like it'll be a pretty sweet porter (which is exactly how I like them), though the FG is a *little* high...

I usually stick with ~4 oz of priming sugar per 5 gallon batch.
