Anyone know if I can or should not cold crash a beer while still in primary then harvest the yeast cold for washing.
 
You can harvest the chilled yeast from the slurry. No worries.

You should not have an issue doing this. You will mix everything up again after adding your sterile h2o and swirling your FV around, even when it is cold. The yeast will remain in the top layer suspended, ready to reclaim.
