Hi all,
I've been brewing for a while now, but have a question that I've been arguing with myself over for the past few brews.
Say I need a 1.5 liter yeast starter, should I be putting in 1.5 liters of wort WITHOUT yeast, or should my final volume be 1.5 liters including yeast?
For instance, I just had to do a step up yeast starter. After the first step, I had ~500ml of yeast slurry to add to the next step of the starter. The next step called for a starter of 1.5 liters. I made 1.5 liters of wort then added my yeast so the final volume of my starter was just about 2 liters.
Like I said, I've been going back and forth about this with myself =)
Thanks for everyone's help!
