I plan on brewing tomorrow so I made a starter from yeast that I washed and stored from an earlier batch.

I used 1/3 cup of DME in 2 cups boiled water, topped it off and added the yeast. That was 8 hours ago and I expected some sort of activity by now.

Did I do something wrong? At what point should I just scrap it and by some yeast from the lhbs?

That is exactly what mine looks like when I make a starter....I have gotten a Krausen only once when making a starter.

I have a 2L starter going for about 11 hours now. When I checked at 9 hours, there was a little bubbling that's all. No obvious activity. At 17 hours when I check again, hope to see business.:rockin:

Also, make sure to spin that flask frequently.
