This is the first time I have used a yeast starter instead of just pitching straight from the packet. At this point, I pitched the starter into a five gallon carboy about 30-45 minutes ago and it's looking a little... weird to me. Wondering if I am over-reacting, or if this is actually something bad.

Thanks in advance!

Allow me to clarify – I pitched my yeast starter into my carboy and was feeling that it looked ginormous and wrong. If it's nothing to worry about then, certainly, yadda yadda yadda.

If this is your first time using a starter, be prepared for a better fermentation. It will start faster, and ferment harder. Be patient, and let the yeast do their thing. They know what they're doing.

Better use a blow off tube not much head room left for the very active fermentation the comes with a starter!
