Hello,

I had a double IPA (extract kit) fermenting for 3 weeks. 3 days ago I siphoned it into a new carboy for a 2nd fermentation. When I tasted the brew I found it to be very sweet, almost like a cider.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

More info:

When I first pitched the yeast it didn't do much for 3 days and even then never overflowed or did much.

OG was 1.06 and is now at 1.03 kit instructions say FG should be 1.01

Wort is very cloudy and I used Whirfloc tablets.

Thanks for your help!

It doesn't seem like your fermentation is complete. Your yeast seems to have stalled.

There are a lot of techniques people try to get them restarted. A search of the forums may be in order.

for starters you shouldn't have transferred it until fermentation was complete.
What temperature were you fermenting at?
What type of yeast was it and did you use a starter?

easiest thing to do would be get a packet of us-05 and put it in. make sure fermentation is complete before racking.

White Labs California Ale yeast WLP001
No starter
Am using a heat belt, sitting around 20 C

When I say not much happened there was some action (see photo) after 3 days but def. slow

Would you recommend a yeast nutrient or a pack of us-05 or both?

Thanks for your reply
