I would rather drill a hole in my head with a salt lick & spray it down with vinegar. or RDWHAHB. I'll take the home brew first though.

After getting more and more fed up with nfl games lasting 3.5 hours, cutting to commercial every 5 minutes and developing a rulebook so complex you need a master's degree to understand it..... I have grown to appreciate soccer.... no time-outs, no commercials, super-simple rules (no hands, don't knock the other guy down, offside....did I miss any?) And less than 2 hours start to finish... I am sold.

Started out with with EPL and Champions League but this year's world cup has been a blast so far... might convince me to tune in to some MLS games next season.

I don't know if I can take a game where a heartbreaking tie is followed by an ecstatic loss.

It is the same logic used to determine division rankings in every sport... Agree the three-game mini-season is odd but that is World Cup, league action is not played like that.

Maybe they should make each goal worth 7 points to appeal to American audiences? So less complaints about how low-scoring it is?

Soccer ever day of the week. Baseball ( or rounders as the girls call it) isn't for me.

Not so much of the girl talk! ;)

Rounders, most likely the origin of baseball was a medieval village sport played by real men with funny clothes! :)

Maybe even clothes like this! :D

baseball

why would I want to invest hours watching a soccer game when ties occur 1/3 of the time. ties in my opinion is just a waste of my time, what was the point of even playing the game. Don't get me started on all the stupid flopping, there is more acting than playing in some soccer games.

Both.

**** I won't watch

Golf
NASCAR
NBA
Tennis
Bowling

I can appreciate them for the difficulty but I'd rather watch many many other things.

Soccer, Baseball, and NFL are my favorite to watch. Probably in that order too.

Soccer. I dont watch the game, I just go to the bar and notice every single time that the female soccer fans are far more pleasant to look at as a group and grading on a curve (not to mention curves) than those that come out to the same bar to watch baseball.

If I'm lyin' I'm buyin'.

This flies in the face of previous threads in which people claim that 'Murican gals is purdiest!

Not to be a pig about it, but try this experiment. Take an American lady. Just about any American lady who doesnt have open sores and isnt super morbidly obese. For the purposes of this experiment the lady in question will know little or nothing about soccer.

Say, "hey, we are going to the bar to see the World Cup. Wanna come?" If she agrees present her with a article of clothing (even an oversized shirt) denoting the team she is expected to be rooting for. 75% of the time she will be more sexually appealing than before she donned such article in both appearance AND demeanor. This percentage jumps to about 90-95% if the country on the shirt is Brazil or Mexico.

This is a completely fabricated but nonetheless accurate scientific fact.

The amount of empirical circumstantial evidence I have supporting this is overwhelming.

From the result of this poll, can I assume that baseball is not the "American pastime" but merely the "American pastime of baseball fans"? ;)

Soccer any day. Used to play/coach a little. The amount of off ball strategy, and overall strategy is a lot more important as you only have 3 subs to make.

Other than that I watch the spurs play because my significant other likes watching them.
