Hey All,

I have been making wine for sometime as I am A wine drinker, but my husband loves beer. We decided to start brewing at home. We are starting our first batch with an extract kit. I feel confident in the procedure I just have one question do you all have any experience or suggestions about using my wine fermenting bucket and auto siphon for beer too. Or is that a way to cross contaminate ? I don’t want to ruin either my beer or wine. Any help would be appreciated

You can make beer and wine with the same equipment, just be sure to clean it after you are done with it. If you where just making wine still, you'd still be cleaning everything when you're done so you won't need to do anything extra. I know a couple people who brew and make wine with the same equipment and they've told me it's fine as long as it's clean.

I agree with beer viking. As long as the equipment is clean & sanitized, you should be fine. My grandpa use to make his own wine. I've always brewed beer. Sometimes we would borrow equipment from each other. After he passed away my grandma gave me some equipment of his that i still use from time to time. I've never had any issues. I hope this helps.
