I don't know what how cold you can make a wine fridge go but you might want to check the minimum temps. Cold crashing a beer at just above freezing might just not be possible, I do not know this to be a fact but it is worth checking. I've seen some people basically alter the electronics on these things to bypass the internal electronics so they can control the condensor directly but it was outside of my comfort zone. I bought a second hand freezer myself.....
