I can only do 1L starters, but I do have a stirplate. Will 1L starter be enough? I could do one starter and then just add one normal vial too if that's any better?

a 1liter starter with an additional vial would be very close to what you need and close enough for me.

According to MrMalty you will need 314 Billion yeast for this. A 1L starter is no where near enough. If you have no other options, then I would go with the 1L starter + stir plate plus another vial of yeast. What might be better is making two 1L starters but even that is a little too low.

In my first post I selected simple starter. After re-running with stir plate as the selection, it looks like two vials with a 1L starter will be enough.

Could you do two 1L starters and just alternate them on the stirplate? Or do one on the stirplate and one with intermittent shaking? That would be cheaper than having to buy a third vial.

I only have one flask for the stirplate. I could do one stirplate starter and one shake starter.

Do you have any bigger flat bottom vessels you could steal? I like stealing the glass cookie jar from my parents when I need a 3L stirplate. I love getting the phone call asking why there are cookies in a bag and where is my jar now?

Well, personally, I would just run to the store and get a large plastic bottle of juice, anything over two liters (I know they sell Hi-C in some pretty massive containers). Use that and just do intermittent shaking. Otherwise, go with one on the stir plate, and one shaking. Just run the numbers through Mr. Malty to make sure you're getting the right cell count, and I don't think it much matters how you get there.
