Will 5 gallon imperial BIAB fit in keggle?

Doing an imperial pumpkin ale with 17 lbs 2-Row and 2 lbs of Crystal-20. So 19 total pounds. I am going to mash in with 2.75 quarts per lb which gives me 52.25 quarts, or 13.0625 gallons. Being the keggle is 15.5 gallons, if I do a no sparge, then how much will the water rise when I add all the grain to the water? Will it be able to fit in the keggle? Thats a lot of grain and a lot of water.
 
13 gallons sounds like way too much water. I had 19+ pounds on for a 5 gallon with no issues. Whats your boiloff rate?
 
Ok, I was calculating wrong.

Last time I brewed a Nut Brown with 11.75 lbs of grain. I used 8.1 gallons water. Had about 0.08 gal/lb lost in grains and boiled off 1.75 gallons in an hour. Wound up with about 5.5 gallons right after boil. I calculated I used 2.75 quarts/lb of grain. I then used that same 2.75 quarts/lb to calculate 52.25 quarts for 19 lbs of grain....or 13.0625 gallons.

I was assuming the mash in rate of 2.75 q/gal was consistent.

Im getting 9.27 gallons now.

0.08 quarts/lb lost x (19 lbs) = 1.52 gallons
1.75 gallon boiloff
0.5 gallons trub

5.5 gallon batch + 1.52 gallons + 1.75 gallons + 0.5 gallons = 9.27 total gal

19 pounds at 2.75 qt / lb will produce a 14.6 gallon mash....that is pretty close to the top and could result in spilling a bit of grain during mash in....you could leave out a gallon and add it after the mash in...or add a gallon boiling water after the hour...stir well and pull the bag.

trick is it is 14.6 gallons after being mixed...how many gallons during mixing can be a touch more.

Your likely fine IMHO if you mash in carefully....
