Its boiling right now. All that I have added are the grains. Its a Pliny The Elder extract kit. Almost looks infected as its boiling.

At first glance, those bubbles make me think starches; like when you boil potatoes. How did you steep the grain (steep time, temperature)? I assume you removed the grain from the pot before boiling (preferably before it hit 170 degrees)?

I get a similar result when I add pasta to cold water and then raise it to a boil. I assume it's starch.
