Why do they call It brewing when it's more like waiting?
See Put water into pot wait for it to heat.
Put water into mash tun ,add grain, stir and wait.
Drain into pot and wait till it boils.
Wait while it boils down to the proper volume
Wait till the proper times to add hops and stuff
Wait till it cools to pitching temps
Wait 2,3,4 weeks while the beer sits in the primary
Wait another 3,4 or 6 weeks for the beer to condition in the bottle or keg.
I can brew coffee in 15 minutes and iced tea in 20 but it takes a month to "brew" a beer.

I think "waiting" was already used.... For men who have to go "shopping" with their SWMBO.... They hang in the "Waiting" area....

Cheers

That waiting area should be a bar.

I guess that's kinda like why they call it a roach clip cause "pot holder" was taken

I had a friend who wanted to help me brew a stout. I said, "Dude, it's not as exotic as it sounds. Most of it is sitting around waiting."

Odd. I rarely have time to just sit and wait when I brew. I'm always cleaning stuff up, writing down information, singing along to some tunes and playing air guitar.

This is me. I multi-task like a mo-fo when I brew. I usually take about a 20-30 minute sit down break to eat during the mash or boil depending on the time of day. At this rate I usually come up on the end of the mash or boil quicker than I wanted to because I'm multi-tasking on something else. In that case I just mash longer, but if boiling I'll drop what I'm doing to tend the kettle..

While it's in the fermenter you have plenty o time.
While it's conditioning for 4 weeks you have time.
I make a big mess but it don't take long to clean it up.....the next day.

I'm lucky I have a huge pipeline (;)), so waiting isn't such a big deal anymore these days...
