I'm generally an impulsive buyer but hate this week in particular because I also like saving a $$ every now and then...

Is it going on sale, is it not

I need it NOW but it might go on sale Friday or Monday, shall I wait to see if there's any sales USA side after thanksgiving.
if there's no sales and my only real option is China it might not get here before the new year

THIS SUX

I've never had such an issue. The holiday was all about family and for truly personal reasons today, I do not much care for the week but not because I am conflicted about black friday sales.

I also dont worry about Black Friday, It's the holiday disruptions that make me crazy. Social obligations galore :(

I'm getting more tolerant with age though, but too much family compressed into such a short time period can not healthy.

Happy Thanksgiving in advance :drunk:

We already did the Thanksgiving get-together thing (last weekend), there's way too many amateurs out on the road over thanksgiving break to even contemplate driving any real distances.

Oh ... forgot to mention... I'm a Brit, not American (sorry if I offended anyone)

I don't mind. I'm focused on the daily stuff and getting ready for turkey and family. I'm not planning on shopping, and the wife isn't all that interested, but there may be some other family who want to go out and we might go to make it a social event.

On the other hand, I have two large dogs who need to be taken care of, and I might have to run down for the day and then come back home that evening. That means minimal shopping, and if we do go out it might only be for a short time after Tday dinner. Going to the movies has been a tradition for the past several years. There is a really cheap theater near the MIL that show current film in Digital and 3D and has stadium seats and everything for like $3 a tickets and the concessions are actually VERY inexpensive as well. They are always busy and lowering prices hasn't seemed to hurt them, in fact I'd be willing to bet they are doing pretty good. I've heard other chains are pissed at them for doing this because it makes them look bad.

There are a couple of films I'd like to see and the girls haven't seen them either.

Wait. They celebrate the American holiday in UK? I find that hard to believe but hey it's a good excuse for you on that side of the pond to eat far too much food and drink far too much ale!

Personally I love this week because it is the ONLY holiday of the year that I get 2 paid days off in a row and the only 4 day weekend! In addition my birthday is Nov 29 so the party never ends after Wednesday night! :ban:

As for black friday shopping. I have a couple items I'm watching and hoping to purchase online. If I brave the crowds it is only for 15 minutes and if the item is already sold out I'm straight back home.

I hate Black Friday shopping, but fortunately SWMBO is starting to also.

So my perception of this week is improving! :D

I ignore Black Friday (maybe will grab an online deal or 2). But I love the quiet, 3-day week and the big meal on Thursday is always fun. And a 4-day weekend is nothing to complain about! So overall I consider it to be among the better weeks of the year.

Morons have been camping out in front of stores for a week to save 100 bucks...I've never shopped on BF, it's too crazy and you don't save that much.. It's not worth it for me. Plus the TV's and stuff like that, that are so ridiculously cheap are crap. For me online is the easiest way to go. If I need to go to the mall, it's in the middle of the week at 10am, when everybody is at work.

All my gift shopping has been done for months. I might catch some online deals but if I had to go in a dept store this time of year I'd end up in jail. I can't even stand going to the store when the walfare cards are filled every month. Pretty much the same group of idiots acting the same.

I have almost everything done for the holidays. I would rather spend twice the amount on something than go deal with the shopping craze. And I have. Got a few toys for the kids and one will be half the price on Friday Wife said lets get it and return the other. Nope not happening not going out to may idiots. I just won't stress on the holiday it is suppose to be about the holiday and celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not over what deals we can get and who we have to run over to get it. Shut the stores down and relax and enjoy instead of shopping for JUNK they probably don't need anyways.

I work in the meat market at a grocery store, so I hate it. Haha. Especially with Turkey's at 27 cents per pound

I'm only 42, most of my family has passed away. Mom, grandparents, aunts, uncles all gone. Cousins have all started their own families and moved off. I'm usually to broke to buy water as I am now. Contemplating not even putting out the Christmas decorations this year. I could skip from now to January 1st and never miss it. The holidays used to be something important, now their just numbers on the calendar. So yeah, I hate this week too, cause it just makes contending with your daily shopping chores that much more difficult.
