Started this mead 2/4. 15# orange blossom honey with 5 gallons water. I proceeded according to Morebeer's mead instructions.
Did 3 different nutrient additions during fermentation. I ferment open in a bucket (bucket lid and airlock laying on top just not locked down)
yeast was 71B-1122, with goferm.
I only had one instance with a foam over mid ferment when I added the nutrients, I wasnt thinking and created nucleation sites....foamed up and out of the bucket.
Everything was cleaned up, however today when I went to add the campden I saw the picture. I am hoping you veterans will say that is normal on top of a mead, however I am a little worried. Taste has a tang to the tip of the tongue which I am hoping is just the CO2.
