I am new to brewing and now have my second batch in the LBK. I am currently fermenting the whispering wheat mr beer kit using the booster that came with kit. My question is that I have read that with wheat beers u do not need to leave in LBK for 2 weeks like normal and should take out after only one week and bottle? I'm using the yeast from mr beer kit. Everything looks to be going fine but wanted to ask some more experienced brewers for their opinions. Thanks

The only wheat beer I've brewed is this one:

Which I ended up leaving in the primary for about 3 weeks, possibly 4, because life kept getting in the way. I didn't end up having any issues with it at all, and my friends all love it. I have no issues leaving beer in the primary for longer then I've seen recommended.

You should leave the beer in as long as you want to. The only way to determine if fermentation is complete is to take gravity readings. This topic is discussed ad nauseam elsewhere on the forum. Do a search for "primary fermentation time"

That was the first beer I ever brewed too. I left it in primary for four weeks then racked straight to bottling bucket and bottles. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it turned out, and I don't really care for wheat beers.
