I hear see people discussing it but don't know what it is. Can someone splain it? Will it keep the dreaded green goo from clogging my siphon tube?

Stir the bejeezus out of your cooling wort so it settles to the middle of the boil kettle. This way you can draw off cleaner beer to primary.
