I'm doing a small one gallon batch. I have a 10qt pot where the water comes 3/4 of the way up and a new 5 gallon pot that's a tad wider but obviously a 1.75 gallon boil is not even coming up half way. I have a lid for the new one. I don't for the smaller one but of course I could use any lid that I have. I like the new one because it has gallon markers inside. I can't find anything anywhere saying that a small volume in a big pot would not be hurt anything, and in hindsight I wish I would've bought the grains for a 2.5 gallon batch but oh well. Thanks!
