Where's that Simcoe at, though?

Trying to put together a half batch of Pliny clone and I can't find Simcoe! It's already too expensive, but then you can't even buy it when you decide to spend the $$

On a side note I have a pound of this years mosiac that I'm not gonna get through if anyone would like to trade like 4-8 oz for something. Should only be like $2 to ship usps in a small envelope. They are vacuum sealed.

come to think of it, I messaged them through their FaceBook page. They got right back to me. If they are out I might be able to part with some of mine.

Cool! I should check the brewery about 30 minutes from my house. I just got an email from them asking area homebrewers if we would be interested in buying some stuff through them...

This I'm interested in! Probably give us good deals on grain bags huh?

It's Clam Lake Brewery in Cadillac. I haven't heard back from them, but we are having a Club Tour on Monday, April 13th. You should come on up!

I'll still be here in GA unfortunately. Otherwise I'd love to. Let me know about buying ingredients through them. That would be great. I'm hoping to make the May meeting but I may be moving bees into blueberries in South Haven. Definitely be there for June because I think I'm giving a talk about mead.

I hope so. I'm looking forward to improving my mead skills.

I sent a message and they gave me an email address to inquire with.

I sent using my home email and it bounced back. Appears to be a spam filter setting. Probably due to an invalid reverse DNS entry. I should get with Charter Communications and correct it. It's not a problem normally, but some people use reverse DNS as a kind of check on validity.

I then set using my work email, with a valid (I think) reverse DNS entry and it still bounced.

I fell back on my rarely used GMAIL account and am waiting to hear back. It's kind of annoying to have to jump through hoops like that.

That's interesting. I know others here have contacted them and ordered some. When I went in and picked mine up they even commented about how they were shipping it all over the country and didn't know how word spread.

I finally got through using gmail. What a pain.

Oh well, they are 2012 hops, so older than I wanted or expected. The price is right, but I have to buy 10 lbs, so IF i wanted to buy some old hops I'd have to go in with some homebrew club members and I'm not sure I can find enough of them who will use that variety and who want 2012 hops.

have you tried http://hophousebrewingsupply.com
$3.80 for 2oz bags and flat rate shipping for $6

Good deal. I'm too busy and too tired of looking to nitpick. Ordered 6 ounces.

Thanks!

I may still order from the brewery, but not until I check with the guys from my club. For some hops, 2012 isn't a huge deal, but for a IIPA, I'm really interested in the freshest I can find.

I don't like using hops that are older than 2013. And that's rare for me.

There's a reason the brewery does not want them and are selling them off for so cheap. 2012 that's three seasons old
