Wife and I made a riesling this fall. Turned out not half bad after backsweetening a little. She's very pleased.

Anyway, I'm looking for relatively inexpensive clear 750 ml bottles (24). Any secret sources?

thanks much.

Italian restaurants. talk with the owner or manager around 2:30pm on a weekday.

I got most of mine from friends, although I wasn't picky on size or color "Hey I need some wine bottles save me some".... evenautlly I had enough and said "I'm good"

At my local wine making supplier you can buy a case of 12 new 750ml bottles for 7.99 Canadian. Hardly worth washing the old ones...

$12.00 for the same deal here in Vancouver. Why is everything so bloody expensive here?

Vancouver is a little more in general but put it this way...there are two suppliers both under 2km from my house. One sells 12 bottles for $13.08 the other sells the identical bottles for $7.99...go figure.

I have a wine bar close by that will save them for me. They accumulate them very quickly.

Agreed I raid the recycling at at a local place every now and then (with permission from the kitchen manager). You can get those big 1L or 0.5L San Pellegrino bottles that you can put a crown cap on. Those are my favorite. Makes bottling a sparkling wine way easy.
