when to add honey?

i want to brew a batch of brown ale, but want to add honey. is 1# of honey to much? when should i add it? it is a true brew kit that i have brewed once before, and just wanted to experiment. thanks

I did my last batch with 3# and I added to last 20 mins of the boil.

Yeah with a pound you will get more of an aroma than a taste, smelling it in the glass before you drink it.
