can someone tell me the differences between white wheat and wheat malt? Always thought it was the same.

white wheat is a type of wheat malt it is a base malt like red wheat. (they are very similar). Caramel wheat is another wheat malt so is midnight wheat. Flaked wheat is not malted. I don't think torrified wheat is malted either.

if a recipe simply says "wheat" or "wheat malt", 99% chance they are talking about white malted wheat. Not any of the specialty wheat malts or unmalted (raw) wheat
