I am an amateur brewer. So far by ingredient kits only. I just got my first kit with both Barley Malt and Wheat flakes. The steeping process was a little different because of "unconverted" grains. Steeped them together in the steep bag for 45 minutes as directed. I noticed during the boil a lot of bits and pieces floating around. When I transferred to the fermenter I saw so much stuff coming through I had to get my strainer. Are wheat flakes known for coming through the steep bag? Any thoughts? Thanks
