Hey all,
I'm looking to develop and build a controller to assist in my brewing and fermenting beer and was wondering what you would like in one? I plan on doing this all for myself as i keep getting sidetracked and forgetting steps while brewing so i want a device that i load the brewxml file in and it tells me what to do and assists in controlling devices.

The device itself will be able to monitor 8 temp sensors and control multiple relays. I want it to be able to log all steps in the brewing so i can save the logs and compare them to others of the same brews to help experiment with the process.

I'm thinking building the logic like:
1. heating to 165 deg
2. pour 5 gal from HLT to MT
3. waiting 45 minutes
4. heating to 180 deg
5. pour 1 gal from HLT to MT
6. waiting 15 min
7. drain from MT to BK
8. heating BK to 212 deg
9. waiting 15 min
10. put 1oz (type) hops
11 waiting 25 min
12. put .5oz (type) hops
and etc

It then would go into the fermenting process to monitor/control it and help log the SG readings. I usually brew every month or 2 and have missed steps or will forget to take sg readings, but if the device can tell me what to do next, or text/email me to do something, then i'll remember to get it done and have a more consistent product.

anyone have thoughts or ideas?
