What tube diameter?

I'm building a 45 Gallon HERMS brewery.

What tube diameter would you recomend?
Objective: Not waste the day by watching the water being pumped from HLT to mash, and the wort from boil to fermenter.

I use 1/2" ID silicone tubing and 5/8" Hose barbs for my 50 gallon brew rig. I use a standard 809 march pump on that rig.
