This **** makes me sick. Im at work yesterday ( I work LP at a retail store) and this girl maybe 5 years old. She come running out the door with 5 Dvd's. So proceed to take off running after her. I finally get the Dvd's from her only to realize its the same girl that did the same thing on sat. On sat. mom is standing out in the middle of the mall, and trys to acted surprised, but seems pretty shady. After 30 min. or so on mon. i see the mom and confront her. She finally confesses that she does not have money to buy her kids toys so she sends them in to take stuff. WTF. I was so damn pissed. I called the police but she took off (we cant stop people from taking off). What does she think this is teaching her daughter. Stuff like this scares me to think were we will be in 20 years.

Company policy?

Legally a store owner or his/her agent can detain someone for leaving the premises without paying for merchandise. I was a private detective between college and my first real job.......I walked around grocery stores watching for shoplifters in 4 hour blocks, worst job ever!

That's for insurance purposes, I'm sure. The store is afraid they'll get sued on top of being shoplifted. I saw all kinds of sh!t like that when I was a meat cutter in a grocery store, too. People would get their kids to steal all kind of stuff for them.
Gawd am I glad I'm out of that racket.

BTW want to know what the most shoplifted items are? Booze, cigarrettes, and EPTs, in that order.

Mom is teaching the kid to get what she wants. It is like credit cards.. Just charge them up super high then stop paying them. People do it all the time.

I worked in a hardware store that kept undercover security at all times. One day, a lady is in there just beating on her little kid. I mean, getting brutal. And she has him on one of those leashes.

So a bunch of us get pissed and talk to the store manager. He sees and hears her too, but his hands are tied. So he sends the store dick to follow her around, not just through the store, but all the way through the mall we were attached to.

You can't tell them what to do, but you can let them know they're being watched.
