What homebrew are you serving for Christmas? This Christmas I decided to serve to my friends and family these three beers:

1. Nut Brown Ale - surprisingly enough this beer is a hit with the non-beer drinking crowd, including my 84 years old grandma :D

2. American Wit - this is my cross-over recipe, sort of in-between Blue Moon and APA. Popular with what I call the "hip yuppies".

3. My House Ale, mainly for me, I like it with food and just for "hanging out".
:mug:

I have to take beer on the road. No activities at my house except maybe a new years day pajama party or something.

I will be bottling up some of my Christmas beer, which is basically a IIPA but with winter tastiness, some brown ale, porter, Pliny clone, wit, RIS and whatever else I have laying around. I want a good selection on hand for whatever sounds good. I may even toss some commercial bottles in, I have some SN Celebration and Anchor Christmas ale

Taking a bottle of Delirium Noel to Parents for Christmas night. WIll most likely take a 1/2G growler of Simcoe Blonde as well. Then Simcoe Blonde and Mild on tap for New Years Party.

I wont know til tomorrow night if the beer I intend to bring to X-mas will be carbed or conditioned in time. If it's not it'll be a no-go. If it is, I'm bringing Mojave Read, and a SMa2h (Single malt and 2 hop) Ipa made with Marris Otter and cascade and centennial.

I was going to serve my Winter Porter for Christmas eve, but it's looking like it may be better served on New Year's.

I'll probably just take some non-homebrew to my Christmas Eve celebration, since my brother and I try to outdo each other with fancy/expensive beer! Christmas day is at my in-laws and my BIL is a friend of Bill W., so it's always dry there.

Looking forward to New Year's, though, since over the Summer my friends loved my Irish Red, so I think they'll like the Porter.

I will have everything in my sig on hand. I have 3 Christmas celebrations at my house this coming weekend, so I am guessing there will be significant damage done to some of those.

I will be bringing over a couple beers to my family's place this year. A bunch of my american amber, figured that would be good for the not so snobby beer drinkers. And my hazelnut porter for the rest of us. It didn;t turn out with as much hezelnut flavor as I was hoping for (I used one bottle from Austin Home brew), but its smooth as hell with good flavor and body AND clocks in at 10.4%abv. It was sure hard to age it for the last 4 months or so, but patience really pays sometimes.

Chocolate Porter, my second brewed beer. It turned out excellent! Can't wait for my dad and bother in law to try it.

Well, the IPA's a little "Harsh" needs some time to mellow. It's fine for me, but even though my family are great fans of good beer and wine (since my nephew makes wine and I brew) I don't think any of them are great fans of IPAs. So I may bring more reds, and maybe only bring 1-2 Ipas.

More than likely I will be bringing...

Apfelwein and my House Pale Ale. Both have been huge hits thus far and I cannot wait to serve them to my family that haven't had the oppertunity to try them yet

Clark Kent Pale Mild, Black Pearl Porter, Cheap Malty Porter, "Light" Irish Red ("light" due to real low efficiency 50% for my first all grain), Port wine, German Mueller Thurgau white wine, Home made egg nog, plus a couple of commercial beers

We are having 7 over for Christmas eve, 15 for dinner Christmas day then add 5 more for dessert and drinks, and scattered thru the weekend several visitations and a few people staying over. hopefully I have enough:mug:

Why do I have the feeling this wasn't a typo. haha

Im giving a few bottles of eds apfelwein to my folks. came home on a plane so i was limited in what i could bring.

Homebrew
Imperial Nut Brown- Most people keep thinking it's a Winter Warmer so I just rename it.
AA IPA- Should be carbed up soon, can't wait to taste it.
Witty Witbier- Kind of a summer beer I was trying out. Came out pretty good, but not really getting to much love this time of year.

Commercial
21st Amendment Monk's Blood
DH/SN Life & Limb
Criminally Bad Elf
Dogfish Head World Wide Stout

Let's see; here's what I brought with me to Colorado for Christmas:

Brown Ale, Amber Ale, IPA, Graff, White-Grape Raspberry Wine, Blackberry Wine, Show Mead, Grape Mead, Orange Mead, Raspberry Mead

:drunk:

Just having a small dinner with 4 people, two of whom are non-beer drinkers. Definitely will kick back with a few bottles of Chocolate Stout and probably the first taste of Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout as well. As for commercial brews I'll be drinking Troegs Mad Elf.

Mint Chocolate Stout, House Red Ale, DFH 60 min clone, Pumpkin ale. 12 pack of each should do it for my family for the week that I'm home.

I only have 2 beers on tap for christmas, a chocolate mint milk stout and my pale ale, the stout has become my favorite dessert as of late, I just drop a scoop of homemade french vanilla icecream into a pint glass and top with the stout, this icecream float will be on the christmas menu for sure!!

I was *SO* just going to start the same thread. Good thing I looked first.

I have some of the following:

1 - The Last 2 750ML bottles of Witbeerish stuff, extract that I made in Oct, goes over well with the BMC crowd

2 - Some Scottish ale, real high alcohol and tastes a bit like Mcewans, was extract batch

3 - Bock - All grain from a kit, super tasty one almost out - for the non-hophead folk

4 - American IPA called "Hanky Panky India Pale Ale"- Way to bitter for most folk so this is likely just for me.

5 - American Pale Ale - Malty Malty

6 - And some homemade blackberry wine (from scratch), and some Strawberry wine from a kit.

Probably more booze than is needed, but you never know if someone will like one or two they will be able to do some beer adventuring with me. :mug:

Serving on tap:
BVIP
Old Irascible (Imp Stout)
Js Xmas Ale
Js Unnamed IPA

Cross over: Miller lite, Firestone Dbl Barrel

Wine: ? dunno not supplying the vino...
