We use something along these lines for most beers:

We've been collecting these for Belgian beers, as style-appropriate:

Ahem, cough, cough..."Das Boot" means "the boat" in English...;)

It's a German "Bierstiefel" or 'Beer Boot', but not "Das Boot". I know it's advertised as "Das Boot", but that's just another indicator of America's failed education system (supported by marketing and the media).

I'm well aware of that, I took five years of German (most of it forgotten but oh well). I was making a Beerfest reference.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who saw that movie...

That brewery turns out 10,000 bottles of beer a day. I take 45 off the assembly line and I'm the *******.
:rockin:

I have an English dimpled mug, several pint glasses and a Great Lakes Christmas ale tulip glass. I usually try to pick the most appropriate for the beer style. RIS and Belgian styles get the tulip glass, my english ales get the mug and the pint glass is used when I don't know what else will work better.

Actually I've found I like the mug for most every thing except for the big beers.

what?? i'm irish, german and french... you expect me to be satisfied with just a glass? :D

I have 5 or 6 different types of glassware that I'll drink out of, but most are just a variation of a standard pint glass. I don't have any goblets or anything exotic yet.

I don't get too crazy with my glassware. I have many of the proper types, but I always come back to simple styles. It just leaves my other glasses to collect dust. I even gave my Sam Adams glasses away in the last Secret Santa because I felt guilty not using them!

I've got three of these sweet club-footed Lucifer goblets. As I mentioned in another forum, the wife bought the last three that they had on globalbeer, and they haven't had any come through since, and I can't find them anywhere else online, so I may have gotten the last three ever...:D

I also have a different Lucifer goblet that has the standard goblet stem-foot and a gold-painted rim...and two Hoegaarden stemmed goblets...and a set of 6 Unibroue stemmed semi-goblets...a few miscellaneous screen-printed pints, and a great little Aventinus glass as seen on the right:

My favorites are the club-footed lucifers, though.

Well played, good sir. well played :D.

I myself drink from Hiedelburg 16 oz mugs I picked up from meijer for $10/4. Seem to hold most beers just fine. Looks just like these guys:

Except that they look better with beer in them :p.

Nice! i actually had one of those...it was an awesome glass, but i was washing it one day and the foot just seperated from the rest of the glass! i didn't bump it or anything. i figured it was a defect so i didn't buy another one...perhaps i should give it another shot!

EDIT: oh yeah, i know of a place that has them ;) although they may also be in limited supply.

Where can I find a list of what styles should be served with what glass types? I currently pour everything into one of my pint glasses I've collected from Micro Breweries I've visited across the country. I WILL have my own of course for using in my bar. But would like the proper ones for certain styles when enjoying some HB by myself/with the SWMBO
