So me and my dad are gonna buy a chest freezer and we were wondering what kind of converter/temperature control box do we need to make the freezer work at warm temperatures? My dad thinks that we are gonna need to buy something else besides the temperature control box to be able to make this freezer work for warm temperatures, do we need to just buy the temperature control box or a whole bunch of other stuff to convert it???? Thank you in advance for the help.

A two stage temp controller to either heat or cool the chamber as needed.
The STC 1000 available on ebay and Amazon works well.

What are you building? A keezer? Fermentation Chamber?

If you're building a keezer and you want to keep things simple and not have to do any wiring, you can purchase a simpler temperature controller, although it will cost a little more, such as the entry level unit made by Johnson Controls (http://www.williamsbrewing.com/CONTROLLER-P762.aspx). You simply plug it in, plug the freezer into it, set the temperature and it's good. The freezer will run and kick off when the temperature you set is reached. Oh, and there's an attached temperature probe that you'll stick inside the freezer for the unit to know what the internal temp is.

Ok thank you i was wondering what i needed. But no we're getting a fermentation chamber, hopefully to do lagers soon.
