We took possession of our pasture-raised, non-soy, non-GMO fed pork yesterday afternoon -- 54# of it. Those piggies got to hang out in the apple orchard late fall and munch on any fallen fruit. Hope it's good - have two packages of pork chops saved out to try tonight. Will try to remember to take some pictures. Will be eating it with homemade keto-friendly (pretty much) cranberry/jalapeno sauce. That pork better be good!

I'll put a large wager that is better than good :) I don't eat that much pork or beef but I'll splurge on local farms for grass feed when I treat myself. I convince myself that it's cheaper than going out and the quality oh so better. Overrall I've never been disappointed plus you get to shoot the sh!t with the local farmer. I also find the taste does change on the season and feed. Best time for milk is spring time when it tasted like ice cream because of the green grass and clover.

Supposedly it's also healthier for you. That's what the results/recommendation of the week state.

Omg, my tongue is hanging out

:D its a 1963 edition of mrs beatons cook book. Its fair to say my dad didn't mind the odd splatter or two. Its rather outdated but quite good for some preserves etc
I'm just funning with you. I have old cook books and brew books that are pretty distressed but they are my favorites.

Funny thing, I replied to this yesterday but my reply is not here. Anyway, I have a couple of old cook books and brew books that are well worn because they are my favorites.

Those mussels look scrumptious! Coincidently I watched an episode of Food Paradise last night that featured a restaurant in Essex MD that made a very similar dish. Mussels, local hoppy pale ale, chicken stock, butter, bratwurst and Old bay for garnish.
