Dungeness crab risotto, 2" pork chops (cooked in the sous vide for 2 hours then pan seared and butterflied), and asparagus with bierre blanc sauce.

I had leftover homesmoked pulled pork from the nachos, so browned up some diced onion, threw the meat in the pan and broke it up a bit, got that good and warm, added a 7 oz. can diced Ortega peppers, then 6 beaten eggs with a splash of half & half - got that all scrambled up and added a couple handsful shredded sharp Tillamook cheddar. Ate with some refried beans and some corn tortillas. Fills up the empty space really well!

What's your pepper drying process? They look beautiful:D

OK, FTR - the California chiles were bought in the store. The habaneros I smoked & dried in my kettle smoker. I don't remember how long it took, it was actually a while ago. Dried peppers pretty much never go bad!

Panseared bone-in rib steak, sauteed sliced Portabello mushrooms, sauteed onions, and a big butter lettuce salad with half vinaigrette/half homemade bleu cheese dressing, and a lovely glass of Smith & Hook cab sauv.

I like coconut but I was a skeptic. I'm happy to say that it's very subtle and balances perfectly with the cinnamon, vanilla and caramel. It's firm, almost like cheesecake. I love it.

Whaddya know, seafood is on deep discount on the first Friday in Lent. Stocked the heck up on 16-20 count frozen shrimp and grilled some really nice salmon last night with asparagus and purple potatoes.

Got baby backs about to go on the WSM now, which I'll serve with roasted broccoli and the rest of the purple potatoes.

I'll grill a couple Cornish hens tomorrow and serve with grilled zucchini and something interesting - one of the guys at the winter farmer's market freezes fresh sweet corn. It'll either taste like August sweet corn or it'll taste like canned Green Giant. We shall see.

SWMBO is visiting her mom this weekend. I'm working. Got out around 8 and took the path of least resistance and went to the local Chinese joint. Where I'm being serenaded on karaoke night by a 6'6" inch brother singing Micheal Murphy's 'classic' from the 70's 'Wildfire' Truth really is stranger than fiction.
