a friend moved out of town and left me with two half full sacks of pilsner malt and wheat. i've never done a lager, or any german beer before, what do you guys recommend?

I was thinking a really hoppy pilsner, but i really have no idea what sort of beer pilsner malt goes into.

EdWort's Kolsch uses pilsner and wheat and it's awesome and very lager-like. Maybe give that a shot?

You can also do a German hefe or American wheat with 50/50 pils and wheat malt. Lots of Beligan styles use pilsner malt. None of those require lager temp control. But if you want to get into lagers many of them would call for pilsner malt.

You can use pils in anything you'd use 2 row or pale for. If you want to use some wheat maybe white ipa with 50/50 pils/wheat and either american ale yeast or a belgian wit strain.

Belgian influenced ales.

Singles, saison, grisette, blonde ale, triples, wit...
